Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about our practice, our treatments, and what to expect.
What conditions does Regen Ortho & Wellness treat?
Regen Ortho & Wellness works with patients experiencing joint pain, soft-tissue injuries, and a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including pain in the knee, shoulder, hip, elbow, wrist, and ankle. Many of our patients are looking for non-surgical options to explore before considering more invasive interventions, when that approach is medically appropriate for their condition. Because every patient’s situation is different, the best way to know whether we can help with your specific condition is to schedule a consultation.
What happens during a consultation?
Your consultation starts with a conversation about your symptoms, medical history, activity level, and goals, along with a review of any relevant imaging or prior treatment you’ve had. We use that information to build a complete picture of your condition before discussing which options, if any, may be appropriate for you. You’ll leave your consultation with a clearer understanding of your condition and a realistic sense of what to expect, including costs, before deciding how to move forward.
What is the difference between PRP, A2M, and BMAC?
PRP, A2M, and BMAC are all orthobiologic therapies made from a sample of your own blood or bone marrow, but they differ in how they’re prepared and what they contain. PRP concentrates platelets from a blood draw, A2M isolates a specific protein from blood plasma, and BMAC is drawn from a concentrated sample of your own bone marrow. Which of these, if any, may be appropriate for your condition depends on your diagnosis and goals, which your provider will discuss with you during your consultation.
Are these treatments FDA-approved?
PRP, A2M, and BMAC are autologous therapies, meaning they are made from your own blood or bone marrow rather than a manufactured drug, and they are not FDA-approved to cure, treat, or prevent any specific disease or condition. The same is true of peptide therapy and the other services we offer. We believe it’s important that you understand the current regulatory landscape surrounding these therapies, and we are happy to answer any questions you have about a specific treatment during your consultation.
Do you accept insurance?
Many of the regenerative and wellness therapies we offer, including PRP, A2M, BMAC, and IV hydration, are not typically covered by health insurance. Because coverage and billing questions can be specific to your individual plan, we recommend calling our office directly to discuss anticipated costs and any available payment options before your appointment, so there are no surprises.
Is ultrasound guidance used for every injection?
Ultrasound guidance is used whenever it may help support accurate needle placement, but not every injection requires it. Your provider will determine whether ultrasound guidance is appropriate based on the joint or soft-tissue structure being treated and your individual anatomy, and we’ll explain why a particular injection is or isn’t being performed under imaging.
I've already tried steroid injections, medication, or been told I need surgery. Can you still help?
Many of our patients come to us after other approaches haven’t worked the way they’d hoped, or after being told surgery is their only remaining option. We take the time to look deeper into what may be contributing to your symptoms, including a fresh review of your history, imaging, and goals, so that any recommendation we make is based on a complete evaluation rather than where your care left off elsewhere. Whether a non-surgical option is appropriate for you depends on your specific condition, which your provider can only determine through an in-person evaluation.
How do I know if I'm a good candidate for treatment?
We won’t know without seeing you. Candidacy depends on your specific diagnosis, medical history, imaging, and goals. There is no single treatment that’s right for every patient, so rather than guessing based on general information online, we encourage you to schedule a consultation so we can evaluate your situation directly and talk with you about your options.
How do I schedule an appointment?
The easiest way to schedule a consultation is to call our office at (918) 255-8226. Our team can answer general questions, help you understand what to bring to your first visit, and find a time that works for your schedule.
